Hands & Hearts for Children, an auxiliary of Children’s Mercy, was founded in 1986 by a small group of young, civic-minded Kansas Citians whose sole mission was to support the hospital through public awareness, volunteerism and fundraising. In the auxiliary’s 32 years, Hands & hearts has raised more than $14 million in support of helping Children’s Mercy provide the highest quality of care available for children in Kansas City and the region.
